I’ve left a few reviews but this is the first bad review I’ve ever left. Back in August 2023 I came to this insurance place to switch from Alberta car insurance back to BC car insurance (I had temporarily left for school). November 2022 ICBC gave me a quote of about 200$ per month for my car. I am a NEW driver by the way!! Now when I came to this insurance company the broker that was “helping” me said that I should get deductibles of 1000$ since I’m a new driver (they are typically 300 not 1000). But it was my first time going to an insurance company alone (I still have my N). She told me I would be paying roughy 400$ a month for car insurance. When I asked her why the price was so high she said that car insurance is expensive these days… Also, I assume with sarcasm, she told me she could give me a permit to park at home and I could take the bus from now on if I didn’t want to pay the amount. I went to a different insurance company the next day and found out the first broker left my file saying that I still live in Alberta and she said my deductibles are WAY too high and that they don’t need to be. I was refunded. I saved half the amount of money… Not only did I almost loose thousands of dollars because of some mistakes, but I also felt that I was talked down to. Maybe it was a mistake and she thought sarcasm is funny to a young adult like me, or maybe if you come here you’ll get a better broker. But this is just my experience.
I went to this place a few times while trying to register my out of province vehicle. The vehicle I purchased from a friend in Alberta was registered in his company’s name. I had a perfectly filled out bill of sale with signatures. My buddy didn’t print his position in the company on the bill of sale. I was able show his Linked-In profile, company website and so on which provided clear evidence that he was the owner and president. This was not sufficient for the drone helping me. Although I could easily go out and print the position on the bill in the parking lot and come back in, no dice. This agent could not problem solve this to save his life. If you want to experience being tripped up by easily overcome bureaucratic nonsense than this is the place for you. For customer service look elsewhere.
I am VERY disappointed in Capri Insurance - West Kelowna. I have been a loyal member for several years and recently discovered my home insurance policy had lapsed 2 years ago. I was told I missed a payment, a Registered letter was sent to me by the Insurer and Capri Insurance left me 1 voice message. I completely owned my mistake at the time, arranged for re-payment and assumed my monthly insurance payments would continue being withdrawn from my acct. To my shock, my insurance policy had been cancelled and Capri only left me 1 VOICE MESSAGE. I thought my business and years of loyalty would warrant more than 1 phone call attempt. Capri further disappointed me when I visited their location (on a Saturday) recently to begin the process of getting home insurance again. The agent was unable to secure my policy immediately and told me it needed to go to an "under writer" for review but she would would get back to me on the next business day. I STILL have not heard from her! I will never deal with Capri Insurance for any of my insurance needs and I will certainly tell everyone I know about the lack of service Capri provides to their clients.
I phone to inquire about my home insurance 1 month ago...was told someone was going to review everything and call me back with details as a payment wasn't processed and it should have been. Turned out this issue was worked out but my secondary issue of renewing my plan and getting details received no call back to me whatsoever. Fast forward 2 weeks and 2 more calls and I still had no answers....now 3 days before my plan renews without my consent I am fitted with a renewal that wasn't reviewed. Now I don't have any time to get home insurance properly because I didn't know if my at the time insurance would allow it. So to conclude I am stuck with insurance I didn't approve or know about due to the lack of communication on capri and a double charge of a bill that I had 3 days notice to budget for this. This sets the bar for customer service quite low.
I wanted to share our appreciation of the young man who works here. Being a group of four, selling and buying a vehicle, three stayed outside to keep the numbers down. The young man checked on us several times, seeing if we needed anything and even offered to make us coffee. He was so polite and we felt very looked after. Great way to make your customers feel good about waiting!
