ICBC is lie on the fly. Every person you talk to has a different story to tell. Nothing is linear with ICBC. They try to lowball you an offer after they take two months to make an offer on your totaled vehicle. This is a horrible and negligent way of running ICBC. Beware, ICBC is dishonest and does not have your best interests in mind. They do not respect their own policies and definitely do not respect the consumer.
Our car was hit and run while we were away hiking causing light damage. ICBC assessor and tools came to an incorrect conclusion so we are out of pocket to fix the damage. I would switch to a different, more capable insurer, but we all know that's not an option.
Here’s their screwy rules: one vehicle or trailer + one accident = two claims and two deductibles because they consider moving forward and then backward two different accidents when it’s not!!! It’s one accident!! Insane and a sleazy way to pay less on their behalf for the actual damage done!!
Mediocre service for a high price point. If you ever want to spend lots of money and be pushed through a process feeling like just another number? Visit your local ICBC broker. My service in Chase BC was so impressionable and unprofessional she pushed me out the door with two different license plate numbers.
Probably the worst customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. Was hit in a accident in September (0% at fault) and icbc was trying to squeeze every penny out of me. They lowballed my payout for my car. (I had found higher price at dealships but they didn't care). Then they refused to let me cancel my insurnace until they received my car, so while my car wasnt drivable from October to March, they forced me to keep paying insurnace on what was an undrivable car, even after I had told them in October it was dead. Felt like I was scammed. And why did it take Half a year just to get this sorted? So, thanks for stealing 5 months of my insurnace payments and forcing me to take a lowball payout.
