Was in trying to get Insurance on a vehicle I just bought and of course your not allowed to get a deal anymore and have to pay tax on some imaginary price icbc wants. Well, that doesn't apply in my case..!. Because my vehicle is not found listed in the Canadian Black Book. So it's supposed to resort back to the Price I PAID for the vehicle! Icbc states... "Average wholesale value" If a motor vehicle is not listed by year, make, model and trim in the Canadian Black Book, then the average wholesale value cannot be determined and PST will be calculated on the price PAID for the motor vehicle!!! Told ya. See icbc rules... ""Motor Vehicles Not Subject to the New Valuation Rules" section *Motor vehicles where the average wholesale value cannot be determined (e.g. the average wholesale value of the motor vehicle is not listed in the Canadian Black Book valuation guide by year, make, model and trim). **top of page 3 *Note: The new rules do not apply to certain motor vehicles. If a motor vehicle is not subject to the new rules, PST will continue to be calculated under the old rules. (told you so.)... For a list of vehicles not subject to the new rules, see Motor Vehicles Not Subject to the New Valuation Rules below.... Ya real nice I have to do both of your jobs at 4:30 on Saturday. Sorry in my opinion you both need to go back to Insurance school or at least read up on all the latest ICBC bulletins. People in this little community rely on you to be knowledgeable. Especially on a Saturday. BTW people + teens..Just make sure if your vehicle ever gets written off that you make sure they pay you out on the value of your vehicle that was estimated Buy the Canadian Black book value when you got your insurance....not the one they use for right offs. Needless to say, now I have to drive into town to go get insurance on a Saturday night. Thanks guys and gal for not doing a great job in there and I'm sorry but not impressed.
