Just signed up for insurance and they double charged my credit card, getting themselves an extra $500 of stolen money. Of course this impacted my credit just enough to cause it to drop a few points and they’re not open over the holiday weekend so I’m sol till they open on wed. ***update. Between the insurance company and the brokerage they continue to pass the buck and no one wants to take responsibility for it. I promptly cancelled the insurance policy before it came into effect, and have only received a check for half of the money they stole from me. Weeks later, still haven’t received the money they stole, so I’m preparing litigation. They pay me my money and damages and my legal fees and theirs if that’s the way, they insist on resolving this. And the receptionist who answers the phone is quite rude, and has zero capacity for customer service. She asked me what I was calling about, and as I begin explaining it to her without saying a word, she transferred me me to someone else mid sentence, without saying a word to me. Second update. After waiting weeks and calling they lie and say oh the checks in the mail today. You wait another week (letter mail doesn’t take that long) and you get a letter saying you canceled your policy. But still no cheque.. time to sue If I could give negative stars, I would get -100
Do NOT purchase insurance through this company! My elderly father purchased content insurance for his place in assisted living. He purchased in March 2023, passed away in August of the same year. The apartment was empty and changed ownership by August 17th. I am now being charged a premium as he did not “renew” in March 2024. They are rude and extremely difficult to work with!!
My first claim in over 40 years on my marine equipment, specifically my outboard. I was very impressed. My local broker started the claim, a local adjuster sent the accident info to Intact and then I dealt with a claims person at Intact to go through the process. I provided everything they requested and they presented me with two options. Both were very acceptable. Once I decided which option, I had my payout within one week. I was expecting the worst when I started the claim but actually got the best I could have asked for. Every part of this process went extremely well. One of the best experiences I have had with insurance, likely because I was honest and forthright throughout the process. Thankyou Intact.
After last years hail storm, we had noticed water stains in our kitchen...shingles on our deck and dented facia and soffit...we had 3 different people come out to take a look and said we would need new shingles in the spring....a guy came and did patchwork..rude to boot and said this will do till spring.....we'll now we are told that they didn't say that...and that the water marks in the kitchen is likely from rodents and that they will repair the eaves and soffit and the patch which is just black paper....we are seniors....they have stressed us unbelievably....I told them just fix those items and we will be looking for another company......our friends are having same problem with them
They are literally the worst. Put in a claim from a hail storm back in August and no one even contacted me for almost 3 months, despite calling several times. They just told me that no one will be out to inspect until spring. All my neighbors have already received their settlement and I can't even get someone from Intact to come out and look at our property. So disappointing and there's nothing I can do about it. As soon as I can leave them, I will be. Don't buy home insurance from them.
