I've been with the same insurer for more than 20 years, but it's becoming impossible to communicate with them (hours on hold, no email contact, broken online chat, etc.). When they gave me a ridiculous quote for a new car, I decided that it was time to move. Last weekend, I completed several online quote requests. The Desjardins application process was the most precise that I encountered (although it did have a distinct QC bias), and the quotes I received were the most competitive. The biggest surprise, however, was the personal message I received from Lauren at Kevin Burke's agency. It was a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon, but Lauren took the time to contact me personally after receiving notice of my application. Lauren was immediately engaged and we exchanged emails to provide documents and update details before a phone call. When we did chat, I found Lauren to be friendly and very easy to talk to, but also professional and respectful. It's often hard to find all those attributes in one person. Best of all, unlike my experience with some other insurers, the prices remained competitive, coming in at roughly $600/yr less than my previous insurer - for equal or better coverage. We won't actually become a customer until the new car arrives in a few weeks, but so far our experience with Desjardins and Lauren in particular has been a pleasure.

Cathy Brown was amazing with helping me get my auto insurance set up!
