The most disgusting excuse for a broker. Was given a quote of $105 for auto insurance. Got documents in mail....now is says rate is $118.......just got a letter in the mail today saying rate is now $139. I have been driving for over 50 years and accident free. This is the most inept insurance broker i have ever dealt with. Stay away from these guys and save yourself some heart ache. No one there seems to know what they are doing.
Bluntly; I am very disappointed with the service I have received from Brokerlink / Intact Insurance. I moved to NS (fall 2023) from Ontario and needed car insurance for two vehicles. The first agent I dealt with seemed very nice and helpful. She provided me with options, I selected one and provided all the information she said she needed. Then I was ghosted. I sent multiple follow up e-mails and got no reply. I called the direct phone number and always went to voice mail. I tried calling the general number, but that would only end up getting me forwarded to the agent's voicemail. Two weeks after hearing nothing back, I walked into Brokerlink's office only to learn the agent I had been working with was on medical leave. Unfortunate for her and I'm sorry that happened, but clearly my file hadn't been handed off to any one else. I got put in touch with another agent who took up my file. I did end up finally getting insurance, but the new agent went ahead and applied a discount to my account that assumed I would download Intact's driver tracking insurance app which I was firm that I wanted no part of and it required unnecessary time wasted on the phone with Intact to remove that. The final straw came when less than 3 months into my 1 year term I got a notice informing me that my insurance premiums were increasing and that I needed to pay up even more. I assume this is because intact adjusts their insurance premiums at the start of the calendar year, but I'll never know for sure because my multiple attempts to contact my 2nd brokerlink agent turned up empty. I was ghosted again. I turned around and paid Intact the balance they asked for and decided then and there that I would leave brokerlink as soon as my 1yr period was up for renewal.
AVOID! I’ve been trying to get Brokerlink on the phone for weeks. I call and leave my phone for HOURS listening to hold music. Cumulatively between my husband and I, we’ve sat waiting on hold for 8+ hours. I’m sitting on hold as I type this. I even tried filling out a quote form to see if a sales person would call me. And the emergency line through Travellers - but they just throw me back on hold for Brokerlink. The next move is to show up at their office - this is RIDICULOUS. If you want to be able to get in touch with your insurance provider - go with ANY OTHER company.
A broker at this agency was meant to change me to a cheaper insurance plan. Well, that broker disappeared from their office and left me with the more expensive plan. Then, to top it off, they raised my monthly payment by $150 a month with no warning. When I tried to clear this up, the agent I spoke with told me that there was nothing they would do to fix the “human error” that drained my bank account and left me without money for food. These people are crooks, please find somewhere else to get your insurance.
Eva was courteous, friendly, knowledgeable. She understood the issue and made phone calls and investigated the issue. She made me feel like she was really working on my behalf.
