Months of delay on a home insurance claim for less than $10k. Their requests for information time and again were ludicrous and invasive...only for Grenville to continue doubling down on their offensive and incorrect assumptions that my home is vacant. Refused to engage directly to have a conversation and put everything through external adjusters, ignored information being provided by my broker such as recorded phone calls and prior visits to my home/ photos, and called me a liar multiple times. Did a site visit when I wasn't home, because I have nothing to hide, and used rolled up carpets (from mitigating damages due to burst pipes), lack of personal items (from being staged for listing) and a refusal to provide my children's school records as "evidence" to support their narrative. I ended up paying for repairs out of pocket and cancelled my policy: my smartest decision in all my months of dealing with this offensive, inappropriate organization. Take your business elsewhere. They will gladly take your premium money and then engage in warfare and unprofessional behaviour should you ever need to make a claim. EDITED TO ADD: the contact noted below resulted in weeks more back and forth, only for them to again deny my claim and tell me my home was vacant due to staging for selling --- STAY AWAY!!

Refused written off vehicle due to American son with Illinois licence but suspended in Ontario. I did my due diligence in regard to seeing his insurance and valid licence and I’m being decline any coverage for my truck , we pay 600 a month for insurance for our cars and farm insurance and been with them since 2011 they don’t care about anyone other than the bottom line.

Grenville is a local operation started up by the farmers in this area. I have a copy of my grandfather's insurance policy with Grenville, dated 1910 covering his farm. My father and myself have had excellent dealings with this 'mutual'. They are not a 'company', they work responsibly for their customers not shareholders. I read the 1 star ratings, and personally, I feel that those people will have the same issues with any insurance company today.

Do not under any circumstances buy insurance from this micky mouse company. My daughter was insured with them for over 10 years with her vehicles, home and business. She had a basement flood last year and asked for minumum compensation and after they put new floors in her basement they cancelled her policy. Her insurance for her vehicles, insurance for her home and insurance for her business. My husband and I advised her to fine a reputable insurance company (not a little small town micky mouse) company in the future to insure her. This is absolutely unacceptable policy for an insurance company to cancel a policy because the person made a claim. This was her FIRST claim in over 10 years.
