Practice What You Preach I feel compelled to share a recent experience I had at Service Canada on McLeod Rd Niagara Falls. Was having trouble booking an appointment so drove down to their office. Arrived as office was closing. I explained my dilemma in booking an appointment. Attendant was nice enough to offer assistance. On her third attempt she was successful and said I was lucky that there was an appointment the following afternoon. We booked and received a confirmation. Arrived next day. While waiting in line we couldn’t help notice the rude and impatient behaviour of the receptionist. She displayed terrible behaviour to everyone in line ahead of us, most I assume were new comers to our country. We also observed one of the other agents being just as rude and condescending. As we approached the kiosk we were met with the same behaviour. We were then told we didn’t have an appointment. Tried to offer the confirmation I ‘d received and attempted to explain that one of the staff actually booked the appointment. I pointed out the nice lady who helped me the previous day and asked to speak with her. The receptionist reluctantly agreed to get her. After another 10 min wait the nice attendant appeared and stated that I must have been mistaken. I reminded her of our conversation the day before of which she denied having. We then asked if we could wait as walk ins and were instructed to get back in line which was now out the door. We decided to drive to the St. Catharines office where we greeted promptly,politely and professionally. We were in and out in 40 minutes. Large signs in both offices state SERVICE CANADA IS COMMITTED TO ENSURING A RESPECTFUL ENVIRONMENT. Perhaps the supervisor of the Niagara Falls Branch could send their staff to st Catharine’s for customer service training.

The help desk is such a slow workers as I can put them into meme now. The lady was plugging in mouse into laptop on registration for 45 minutes. Based on her movements and mumbeled speech it looks like she is on drugs at work. Definettely not they way I expect to receive a service for the taxes I pay.

Very slow. Had to leave and come to the St. Catharine’s location after waiting almost an hour with not many people there. If you’re renewing your passport, you’re better off driving to St Catharines!

I needed my passport renewed and had an appointment two weeks later, but decided to try as a walk-in. Was standing in the reception line when Theodora came out and asked if anyone was there for a passport as she was open. Took me right in, friendly, pleasant, efficient and helpful. Ten minutes later I was out the door with everything done to renew my passport. Went home and cancelled my appointment. Nicely done Service Canada and many thanks Theodora!

The employee behind the window, with a buzz cut (unfortunately, I don't recall his name), was incredibly friendly and displayed genuine enthusiasm towards his work. I deeply appreciate his kindness, and I am confident that with his energy and hardworking attitude, he is destined for success in whatever he pursues in the near future. He truly made my day, so a heartfelt thank you once again!
