My review few years ago and till last year was 5 stars for excellent customer service and prompt responses. Now I call to make changes to my policy and wait for an hour with no agent picking up. I send an email and it takes them weeks to respond!!!
I thought this company was good to start off with and moved my cars after receiving better pricing from Aha Insurance. After a couple of years of pretty decent pricing, all of a sudden my new premiums went sky high - for no reason other than the fact that if you are a good driver, then you also pay for bad drivers. I moved my business and saved over 2K with another company. The other downside of AHA Insurance is the waiting time - phone calls are not picked up, you can be on hold forever, listening to the annoying voice that hasn't changed in years. If you don't mind waiting over an hour to speak to someone (if you are an existing client) and going insane listening to the same music and voice then this the company for you. Personally I am a disappointed customer who was once a happy customer and would never go back to AHA Insurance. I actually resent the cheeky tone of some of the replies to bad reviews as well - "growing our broker business" and "sorry you got caught in it" - that is really quite patronizing and a condescending comment. Stay away from this company, they are not worth the frustration.
Finally managed to speak with Beverley for a quote. She was very pleasant and helpful. Initially looks like I might save about $20 a month overall, every penny counts! I still have concerns about support and claim response as it was very difficult to finally speak to someone. Will update rating once everything is complete as they can only quote out 30 days and I cutover in about 45 days. So after a lot of back and forth Aha ended up being the most expensive option out of 5 different local brokers. They quoted one price but when I went to go ahead it became a different price. Although I found Beverley nice to talk to communication was still hit or miss as far as response times. It makes me feel like they are taking on more than they can handle. For me personally I would not recommend them and it was not a great experience. I found much better response times and prices with other local brokers. Still waiting for them to void my policies.....still terrible response/communication times. Avoid this place like the plague!
Onlia was Great until they were bought up by Aha insurance. They cancelled my policy without any notice or explanation tried to call multiple times and no response. Obviously now its a scam and i can only imagine what you would go through in case of a claim. I will be contacting someone that can look into this Maybe RCMP or whatever association they answer to, this is very serious specially in case of an accident where no one is there to help you.
I'll update the review if I can actually get my policy number. Signed up and was supposed to get an email with it and then be able to set up my online account. Haven't got it, so I call the number in the email to get it, just to be put on hold for 2 hours and then when you get through, be told that you called the wrong number and then transferred to service and put on hold AGAIN, no priority or anything. If you're going to advertise on the first page when people google "car insurance", make sure you have an actual service department beforehand. I think there's maybe 1 employee in service in this entire company and the poor soul has to deal with everything. If you love the same constant guitar riff over and over again, then this company is for you.
