My experience with Economical Insurance has been nothing short of a nightmare. My vehicle was involved in an accident 3 months ago, and despite providing all necessary information and following up diligently, the handling of my claim has been appalling. First, they made premature payments to a repair shop that didn't even complete the necessary repairs. When I informed them of the shop change and requested a halt on payments due to suspected scam activities, my emails were ignored, and payments continued regardless. I've been left without my vehicle for over 3 months now and counting, unable to work, and have had to pay for a rental out of my own pocket. The communication from their end is slow and ineffective. Despite numerous attempts to get them to reverse their mistakes and proceed with the correct repairs, all I've received are excuses and delays. I went to Waterloo office just to correct their mistakes but refused to be heard. The incompetence and lack of accountability from Economical Insurance have caused me significant financial and mental distress. I strongly advise anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. Their mishandling of claims and disregard for customer concerns is truly unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and avoid Economical Insurance at all costs.

I had a total loss in my vehicle and working with Economical was painful at best. I never heard from them unless I instigated and the sometimes I didn’t even hear back until I escalated to my broker. I provided feedback and they never bothered to contact me. It was a complete shock at how unresponsive and how unprofessional they were.

My partner and I were hit from behind in a collision that made the vehicle a "write-off". This took a month to determine by the insurance company and then when they promised a settlement within 48 hours, we are at over 1 week now with no answer and no vehicle to use at all. The rental contracts covered one week at a time sporadically and now without a rental for 5 days, still nothing. The company does not answer emails or return phone calls and one department has no idea what the others are doing. When trying to change vehicles because we are now forced to buy another one(another mess), the broker had no idea the other was not repairable or even damaged. They thought we were adding one. This is very frustrating. Please help us escalate this for answers. This can all be over very soon!!!

My car was hit and damaged in Florida by a policy-holder from Economical Insurance on 12/24/23. I submitted a claim immediately with the at-faults party, and my claim was sent to Beth Butt's office to die. My family and I have been following up with the company and Beth for over 5 months looking for direction and resolution. It took us over a month to get to first steps, which was getting a quote. That same week, I went and got a quote and immediately sent it to Beth. It took her another month to respond, and the adobe scan quality of the quote that I gave her was apparently not good enough, so I had to go back to the auto body shop and request an electronic copy. Which I did, and again sent immediately. It has now been over a month since I sent the original quote to Beth, over 2 weeks since I have sent her the PDF quote, and still have no response. Over a period of 5 months working on this WHAT should be a SIMPLE claim and reimbursement for repairs my family and I have heard from Beth only a handful of times. Not to mention when you call and request a supervisor, they will flat out refuse. I do not have the money to repair my car myself, the accident was not my fault and this company has done less than nothing to take responsibility and left me feeling absolutely helpless and ruined the value of my car.

Pleased save yourself the heart ache later and choose another company! I was the victim of a hit and run accident caught on video and the insurance company, after 2 months, has yet to clear up the issue or pay for my car to be fixed. Absolutely ridiculous. Unacceptable. I was added as a customer through broker link. I had no idea of the horrendous customer service that I would experience with this Definity group/ economical. While I wait, I had to share and save the next person from this stressful situation. The team lead’s email says that the day runs when you need them but he obviously isn’t committed to that. So sad.
