Commencing over two decades ago, my spouse and I have faithfully entrusted our insurance needs to AllState. Regrettably, recent encounters have left us disheartened. When my husband sought to insure his new truck, he faced considerable difficulty connecting with a live agent. Despite succeeding eventually, the process was needlessly arduous. Subsequently, on July 18, 2024, as I endeavored to initiate the exchange of my vehicle for a new one, my attempts to contact AllState were met with prolonged wait times culminating in disconnections. The following day, scheduled for the acquisition of my new car, my endeavors to reach a representative proved futile. It was only upon conversing with Curtis Boivin from the Sudbury office that I received guidance. Though unable to effect the necessary alterations himself, Curtis assured me that a colleague would reach out imminently. Assured that my existing policy legally extended coverage to the new vehicle for up to 15 days, I awaited a callback that never materialized. Come Saturday morning, the appointed time for vehicle collection, I was informed that proof of insurance was imperative for the handover. Contrary to Curtis's advice, AllState's confirmation was deemed obligatory before the car could leave the dealership. Subsequent attempts to contact AllState were met with prolonged wait times, including discovering that the office remained closed on Saturdays, adding to the frustration. In light of this disconcerting episode, it is with regret that I have opted to discontinue all my affiliations with AllState, encompassing my home, vehicles, and recreational assets. Regrettably, Curtis Boivin's handling of the situation has led me to question his reliability and reflects poorly on the company's reputation. I attempted to contact Curtis Boivin, via Facebook Messenger. Despite reaching out, I have not yet received a response, even after an hour as posted. Based on this experience, I suggest considering alternative options for your insurance requirements, as the customer service provided by Allstate is very inadequate. Buyer beware!!
Customer service is more than horrible, wait 1 hour to talk to people on the line who have no clue what they are doing(need definitely training), and is WAY to expensive (home insurance just went up by 40%, competition is half price). These are just a few comments from a EVER CLAIM FREE client (soon to be ex client). Think twice if you are considering this ripe of company.
I asked to add a vehicle 2 days ahead of time so I could make sure I would have insurance the day of delivery. Was supposed to get a call back the next day... never did. Called multiple times today and left messages... no call back. Their website shows they are open Saturday 10am to 4pm. Their voicemail states that they're in the office today. I called the 1-800 number and they can only activate the insurance policy for the next day, which is too late now. I now have to change plans and arrange a different pickup date with the dealer. I also asked for french services, but the insurance advisor did not speak french. If it wasn't for cancellation penalties/fees, I would cancel all my policies with them and go elsewhere.
If your in an accident. You will find out quickly your insurance money is going to waste. You are not covered. Do not choose To Allstate. I can see a class action happening with this company soon.
Former customer of 10+ years. Same phone number and email address all through out. Credit card on file expired, instead of calling or emailing me, the immediate response was registered letter of cancellation. They claim my phone number didn't work and my email address on file was incorrect. Despite this I had recent emails and phone calls. Realized the issue when they called me to update my payment info, after I had already been cancelled. Update wouldn't process and a nearly year long dispute ensued. Their resolution was to offer me a new policy with double rates for non payment. Not even a competitive rate. Don't trust them to do anything beyond their minimum legal obligations, doesn't appear to include service. Will be using a broker in the future.
