Stay clear of this company. There absolutely disgusting. Been with them for 12 years. My rate was 160 then they for no reason except inflation apparently jacked it to 250. Then I move 10 minutes away and they raise it to 350. Absolutely disgusting. Found way cheaper elsewhere. I call to cancel and they charge me 328. Final kick in the pants I guess. STAY CLEAR THERE ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING

My husband and I have been loyal clients with The Personal for over 21 years for both my cars and home. I had a new policy with them for a new car for over a year and even though they automatically increased that insurance the 2nd year they then requested I fill out a new car application ( OAF1). I told them since you already went ahead and automatically increased my insurance for the year and began taking it from my account- how about I wait until the following year before renewal- doesn't make sense to do it after the fact. They said they were missing my incorporation information (which I then sent to them via email). Fast forward to this year ( 6 weeks before the policy renewal) to my surprise I get registered mail telling me my policy is cancelled. I called to find out what the problem was and they said I refused to give information so they cancelled it. Firstly, it's funny they said they sent an application for me to fill out, which I didn't' receive or would have filled out ( I work in a plaza with 30 other mailboxes- sometimes the mail doesn't arrive and they were informed of this at the beginning of this new policy) but for the cancellation they had no problem sending registered mail. Nonetheless, when I spoke to them they said the underwriter said put in the app and it shouldn't be an issue. So I sent in the requested information and was awaiting a response. Weeks later -Nothing. So I had to call and asked what the status of the application was and why I hadn't received a call, a letter, an email back? No communication from them at all. The man I spoke to a rude man named Charles ( who needs some serious training in customer service) he flat out read me a few lines saying that the insurance that I need is commercial and they don't offer that based on the ownership of the company...blah blah blah.... made no sense since they just gave me insurance for two years but that ultimately the policy is now cancelled. Clearly I was angry and I said okay, send me what you read me so I have that information. After arguing back and forth he refused to send me that excuse that he had read me and said we already sent you the cancellation letter so that is the reason (that I failed to provide information) yet,(albeit later than they wanted) I just provided it to them but now the reasoning for declining me is something different, but they refused to put THAT on paper. He ended up HANGING UP THE PHONE on me which is disgusting and pathetic for any employee to handle any situation. I wouldn't recommend the personal to my anyone. After reading the reviews on here, it shows that they don't care about customer loyalty or retention at all and are willing to drop clients they've had for decades. I have never been treated so poorly before by a company who has taken my money for decades with no accidents and clean record too. Honest review- STAY CLEAR FROM this company because at some point you'll get screwed over like everyone else who has posted a 1star review of their experience.

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received regarding my claims for the Burlington flood which affected my basement. Despite making numerous calls and following up with multiple representatives, no one has called me back to process my claims. When it comes to charging the monthly fees, this company is quick and efficient, but when it comes to actually providing the service they promise, it's a completely different story. The lack of response and support during this difficult time is unacceptable. This experience has shown me that this company prioritizes their profits over their customers' needs. I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and responsive customer service.

Hello, Shortly after having signed with the Personal on this year for home and auto insurance we received a notice from The Personal to provide our driving history in Canada setting a deadline of 30 days. We are a very busy family. I have been 26 years in Canada and it was only the 1st time ever an insurance company has requested our driving history. Considering our circumstances it took much longer to obtain the required documents and I did notify The Personal on the due date that I was still working on that. It took me time to figure out how to request the required documents. The Personal did not provide detailed instructions on how to obtain this document and I had to call their agents for that. The Personal never notified me that if the deadline of 30 days is not met, then there would be an extra charge. At this point I'm not sure if the Personal charges us extra for not meeting the deadline or because of inconsistencies with our driving history. We believe The Personal should have requested our driving history from the Ministry of Transportation on their own and charging us for this service. The Personal should have advised prior to our signing with them that they have a practice of requesting the driving history from the Ministry. We believe The Personal should have advised that in case the deadline is not met they will charge us extra. All in all we have experienced very poor customer service with a not appropriate extra charge. I tried to complain with the Personal disputing the extra charge but my dispute arguments were not accepted, though I never received in writing the reasons of rejection.

got posted to a new base, was told to give them a try, i have a clean driving record, yet i was treated like a criminal for a minor speeding ticket from 12 years ago, they wanted to overcharge by an extra 200$ on top of competitors. for a company that prides itself on helping the military community , they are disconnected from reality and i would never recommend them, they should not be part of the military community because their greed has surpassed any moral sense, they do not consider military families and their finances, we are just a paypig to them. hard no, move on to a better company.
