David, First, let me say that this letter is long overdue. It easily could have been written decades ago. I met you in the 1980’s through your sister Patty, who said I should give you a call about life insurance. When I first met you, I found you to be knowledgeable, helpful, professional and on the aggressive side. I understood the aggressive nature, because I was a successful commercial realtor at the time, and sales of any sort is not a timid business. I had two very young children at the time and you suggested a $500,000 life policy for both myself and my wife. Shortly thereafter, I cancelled the policy on my wife and you asked how my business was doing. I told you I had made top ten in our commercial division and you suggested that I might want to consider a disability policy, to insure my income was protected. That conversation could not have been better timed. As you know, it was just a few years later that I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. In spite of having the disability insurance, I continued to work for several years without accessing it because I always thought I would be back to work shortly; then I found out that the type of Lymphoma I had was incurable. 30 years ago, they had no idea and I was fighting for a cure. I was extremely ill and the policy was a life saver. I went through 9 years of disabling chemotherapy, including two stem cell transplants. I was unable to work. If it were not for the disability insurance, I would have been without any income and probably would have given up the fight to survive. In fact, I’m sure of it. So to put it succinctly, you saved my life by selling me that policy. You have always been in my corner and continue to be decades later. I truly believe that I would not be alive to see my two children and know the joy of grandchildren off it were not for you. I am sorry that I am so late in getting letter off to you. When you don't have a head for insurance, it can be daunting. Sarah made the process so easy and served us at our needs. She was honest and frank about the pros and cons of the various options. The entire process was also done virtually, so even though we didn't have the pleasure of meeting Sarah in person, it saved us so much time.
