Hard to reach them. Already informed SSQ that I am not renewing my lease at condo. I tried to call Beneva at least 6 times now and always on hold for more than an hour before giving up. I was able to speak to an agent yesterday but she hung up on me. I sent emails too but to no success. They already withdrew money from the account for home insurance on condo I don’t even reside anymore. How do I reach somebody directly?
Recently left SSQ for life insurance. Technical products are lacking - took them 4 years to support my bank via electronic payment. Had to send cheques. Service is awful, trying to get you to use antiquated things like Fax/mail. Generally hostile on the phone. Unable to help with most questions. If you don't need service, I suppose its OK (rates are...reasonable), but every time I contact them, its a pain.
Poor service over the years. Every minor inquiry or modification will take 1+hours with customer service. Behind the times in terms of embracing technology. They ultimately left me uninsured for dubious reasons (relocating to another province) while other insurers were happy to take my business. Would recommend another insurer for home or automobile. Edit: I don't want to speak with a member of the team. Fortunately I don't have to do that anymore :)
I have healthcare insurance throught my employer with SSQ. After a year of paying for my insurance without fault and not making a claim my glasses broke. So, knowing my plan would change soon I proactively called SSQ to get clear information about my upcoming eye exam and prescription glasses claim. I use the information that insurance companies give me to make my healthcare choices. My choices are dependent on the information they give me. So, based on the information they gave me I decided when I would get my eye exam and when I would purchase my glasses with the expectation of receiving a specific amount of money back when I claim my expenses. I received my eye exam and purchased my prescription glasses based on this expectation. Upon claiming those expenses, SSQ's postion on how much they would pay me changed. They gave me terrible information on the phone and I used that terrible information to make my choices. Their information was terrible for one of two reasons: 1) They lack competency and cannot comprehend my plan (they don`t konw what they are doing); or 2) They are lying to me I will let you decide which it is because I do not know. What I do know is that they told me one thing on the phone and when time came to refund me for my claim they opinion changed and they WOULD NOT HONOR WHAT THEY TOLD ME ON THE PHONE. I phoned twice before getting my eye exam and prescription glasses and received the same information. Not once, but twice. They do not stand by their word. They take no responsibility for the information they give you. They have no honour. Even better than taking responsibility for their terrible information, they COULD HAVE JUST GIVEN ME THE CORRECT INFORMATION SO I WOULD MAKE MY HEALTHCARE CHOICES ACCORDINGLY! I have lost all trust for this insurance company (asbent one customer service representitive who seems to be more competent than the rest). Like I said, this was the first claim I made in over a year of being with SSQ. My money would be more useful being stuffed in a sock to use for my own healthcare expenses. I held up my part of the deal. They are not honouring their part. If you have a choice to use a different insurance company, I would explore those. This company is crooked.
They are very fast in taking your your premiums. Don’t believe the commercial beneva cares , they care about their bottom line . They collect premiums but if something happens that they need to pay , they try to find reasons to get out of .
