It should be 0 star but unfortunately it's not an option. Worst customer service ever experienced. Agents lying to your face without any shame, they don't answer your emails or your calls. Almost a month waiting for the supposed call from a supervisor but never happened. And according to the agents, this is normal. STAY AWAY FROM INTACT. You can't trust this company, with your valuables. I am lucky the bad experience was with my least valuable property I have insured with them. My home and my three cars will be insured with another company at the end of my contract. Almost 2 months that my car was declared total loss and was in Intact possession since. They offered me a ridiculous amount, comparing my car to a lower model, but no worries, they showed extreme professionalism, the agent started mockingly telling me "well how much is worth this or that", then she asked me to show them a comparable model, but when I did, obviously she refused. Since I didn't agree on the amount that they wanted to pay me, the agent told me I have the right for arbitration, but I have to wait first for the call of the supervisor. Now here's their game, that call never happened in 3 weeks now. Yet, I am still forced to pay the insurance premiums on that car even if it's in their possession. Other words, they will make you suffer and they will make you pay money, time, frustration and energy if you don't accept their offer. At the end it's my fault as a consumer, I should have never dared to ask for my rights or to disagree with Intact. I have to add also, I should have read the other reviews before trying to ask for my rights, I would have got my answer faster.
My home insurance went up so I started shopping around other insurance companies. I got a really good deal with square one insurance. When I called to cancel my insurance with intact, intact matched the offer in order to keep me as a customer! What excellent service!
They refused to repair my car after a fender bender. The agent considered it a total loss even before the estimator came to look at it. It took them a week to arrange a rental car. The agent would say she would call me, and then never would. They told me that even if they did repair it, they couldn't insure the car again. The tow truck driver they sent to pick up the car was shocked that they were considering it a total loss and told me that they he was taking it to the auction. Don't waste your time with Intact.
I got penalized for not downloading the application for them to follow my driving.. Customer service by telephone is rude and unhelpful. I made three calls inquiring about a bill, finally the third told me what it was for but the previous month it showed as paid and then not paid on another bill. I switched my car and home insurance today and feel such a great relief knowing that my days with them are over with. I searched the site many times to be able to contact a person higher up, with no success. I paid my bills on time and was treated with ignorance.
Made claim in April, it took till June for agent to ask for a signed paper, and 2nd of June agent received paper, the she took a vacation for 2 weeks, then cane back and took a vacation for one more week. Already August 3rd and nothing done, complained, even asked different agent to handle case, they said a manager will call onday, that was 3 Mondays ago. All other inssurances never did that ... intact and rsa are the worst .
