VERY VERY SLOW at processing your claim. Most insurance companies can do it overnight, 2 nights at most, Blue Cross usually 10 days. In my opinion, i think their rates are on the high side.

Worst company ever!!!! Whatever company is trying to do direct billing (eg drugs, dental) has problems and I usually have to phone in. If a company wants a pre estimate for example a dental procedure, they have to MAIL IN the request and they will MAIL the estimate to you!! Just for an estimate!!!! To make this process faster you can request an estimate online BUT they again MAIL you the results!! To get the results faster you can phone back after 3-5 business days to see if they’ve processed your claim. I phoned and waited 1.5 hours (not exaggerated) before I got through today. When I got through, the lady I spoke saw a few claims but didn’t know what the procedure codes meant that were submitted so she still couldn’t tell me if the procedure I’m requesting an estimate for is covered or not!!! She will request a call back from their specialist team, they will call me in 1-2 business days! Every other company you can get an estimate within minutes online. What is Sask blue cross still in the dark ages and why are they so horrible to deal with!!

Blue cross are the worst insurance! They take over two weeks to process claims and they disallow my pharmacy to direct bill for my prescriptions, which means not only am I paying a fortune every month for coverage, I have to pay out of pocket for medications and submit them on their home of an app.

Don't even waste your time with this insurance company! I ended up applying for basic coverage and prescription drugs twice and was rejected both times (prescription drugs was the reason for rejection both times). The first rejection was in late 2022 due to the fact that I was still in contact with my specialist. They informed me once I finished with my specialist I could reapply for coverage. I agreed that I would reapply once I finished with my specialist but was contacted multiple times by phone and email to start paying for the basic plan coverage. THE REASON I WAS APPLYING WAS FOR PRESCRIPTION COVERAGE. This company sure wants money but doesn't want to pay out for insurance. I ended up reapplying once I finished with my specialist and was rejected once again. The person informed me that since I wasn't covered with blue cross prior to my diagnosis, the prescription (if I was accepted) would not be covered. I would give 0 stars if I could. This company is such a waste of time. I will happily take my money to a different insurance company where I will get coverage for what I want. Hope this insurance company goes out of business' because it is nothing but a scam. Not recommended and all new applicants have been warned of this fraud company!

After having read through so many complaints & poor stars & the mere lip services by blue cross as answers, I've decided NOT to invest my hard-earned money into their insurance policies. Had these customers received their due as per answers provided by blue cross to their complaints, I'm very sure that these customers would have definitely altered the poor stars given by them to blue cross. But since they haven't, it becomes self-explanatory that blue cross is a CHEAT.....won't last long.
